I rediscovered the game of carrom today. I used to play it a lot while in college, but had forgotten about it for about 10 years. For the uninitiated, carrom is a board game which has the same basic principles as billiards - except that you have discs instead of balls. So when i got a call from a friend suggesting some Sunday afternoon carrom, with some beer to wash it down, I jumped at it. It was a real guys afternoon out - 6 guys got together to play a 3 way doubles series. I had a great partner, so we managed to win out in the end - but for once, it was actually the process which was fun !

What is Ploof ? It's the sound made by a stone when it's dropped into water. It's also a new restaurant in the surprisingly reinvented Lodhi Colony market. I was there with some friends this weekend and it was awesome. I haven't had a better Lobster Bisque in Delhi - come to think of it, it comes quite close to Taste (my favourite restaurant - a charming place in Den Bosch, Holland). The salmon salad with sourcream was quite perfect as well. We rounded off the evening by hopping over to Machan and grabbing a couple of their bullseyes - delicious but sinful!

So Jerry Greenberg (Sapient's co-Ceo) was in Delhi this week. The guy is a superb motivational speaker - spending some time with him made me think about why I joined Sapient,where we're going and how much better it was to work at Sapient than my previous jobs.

Jerry also did a teaser of the Sales 101 training that he does - it was awesome. I understood more about the sales process in 1 hour than I did in 2 years of marketing classes at IIM-A! It seemed more real and it came from someone who's built a 200 million buck company from scratch!

If this works then i'll be posting like a maniac over GPRS from now on !

Just created my new blog today.. time to put a piece of my life on the web. Of course, that assumes that someone actually wants to read about me ... which is probably wishful thinking.
